Women in Healthcare – Nebraska/Iowa Chapter
Women Empowering Women Mentorship Program
The Women Empowering Women Mentorship Program is designed to foster professional growth through meaningful connections, bringing together women from across all areas of the healthcare industry.
Mentorship is a powerful tool at every stage of a career. It creates space for shared experiences, honest guidance, and the kind of support that helps individuals navigate challenges and seize new opportunities with confidence.
🌟 Why Mentorship Matters
Mentorship goes beyond career advice—it builds relationships that:
- Encourage confidence and clarity in professional paths
- Provide real-world insight and perspective
- Strengthen networks and community within the industry
- Support leadership development at all levels
🤝 The Value of Connection
- For Mentees:
- The program is mentee-driven, encouraging participants to take ownership of their growth and development. Mentees are expected to be proactive, prepared, and respectful of their mentor’s time, fostering a productive and mutually beneficial relationship. These benefits are priceless – helping mentees to gain insight from experienced professionals, expand perspectives, and grow with the support of someone who has walked a similar path.
- For Mentors:
- Mentors play a vital role in guiding and supporting the next generation of leaders. Participation requires a thoughtful commitment to sharing time, experience, and insight. Mentors are encouraged to be engaged, responsive, and open, offering guidance that is both honest and constructive while fostering a supportive and respectful relationship.
The Program:
Applications for mentors and mentees are due in August, then the mentorship program officially kicks off in September and concludes with a graduation the following June. Throughout the program, participants engage in a thoughtful mix of in-person small group discussions and one-on-one mentorship meetings that alternate monthly.
This intentional structure fosters both meaningful individual relationships and broader cross-functional connections. By combining personal mentorship with group dialogue, participants gain diverse perspectives, engage in real-world conversations, and build a strong, supportive professional network.
Together, we are building a stronger, more connected community of women in healthcare—one relationship at a time.
